My colleague and I offer a new approach to couple and family therapy; we call this modality Integrated Collaborative Therapy. As two therapists trained in family and couples work, we have found that often one person can feel less heard or understood by the therapist. We decided to develop a model to alleviate that problem. We work collaboratively, each seeing one member of the couple individually and then we meet as a group. This way, each individual has their therapist present during couple sessions. In between sessions, we confer with each other and plan for upcoming sessions. We find that our clients who engage in our model feel more supported by both therapists and the individual work is more effective because we understand the relational patterns and dynamics between the couple, having experienced it first hand. When we work with a family consisting of more than two people, we discuss with the family to determine how we can best support each member of the family using our collaborative approach. We've been doing this work since 2018 and have found it to be very successful.
A body-based approach to healing trauma and feelings of overwhelm that honors the body's wisdom. It is a body-based therapy that helps heal trauma by focusing on how our bodies hold onto the trauma in our implicit memory. This form of therapy seeks to re-awaken our intrinsic capacity for regulating our autonomic nervous system
An effective body-based therapy that helps one heal by supporting clients to fully embody their emotions, which leads to increased capacity to tolerate difficult emotions and to healing.
